Sep 09, 2019 With our new Dell laptops there is a 'Dell Touch pad' app that you need to download from the Windows store, that gives you more setting options. You can find it from the Touch pad settings window  additional settings  click to change Dell touch pad settings. That will bring up the Windows Store App Dialog. It is a free app, so there is that. My temporary work around is to disable the single and double tap and only use the physical buttons in the corner of the touch pad till Microsoft releases better drivers with more options. Touchpad Usage and Troubleshooting Guide; The Cursor Moves Around Erratically While Typing on the Notebook Keyboard.

Question: Just purchased a new Dell E7450 on eBay and so far I luv it… but one problem persists and I hate it. When I type I am frequently messed up mid sentence because the trackpad gets accidentally clicked or the mouse pointer moves. It’s almost like it is clicking by itself. This is super annoying and even worse because I like the pointing stick better anyway. Can you give me any tips?–Andrea

Answer: Hi Andrea! I think I can help 🙂 You have two good options:Disable Touchpad Acer

*Enable “TouchGuard” to prevent accidental clicks/touches-or-

*Disable the touchpad completely

Both of these options can be accomplished by going to your taskbar and right clicking the Dell Touchpad icon in the notification area, click Touchpad Properties, then adjust the sensitivity settings.

Here are some screenshots to illustrate the process:

GlidePoint with TouchGuard inhibits unwanted input on the Touchpad while typing.
